A New Art Gallery Trail in the Heart of the Marais

On Saturday, September 5, Anne Barrault, Hussenot, Mor Charpentier, Parliament and RX&SLAG galleries will open their doors together for the first edition of Les Archives, a new art gallery trail in the heart of the Marais.
Five galleries, several openings, and a few streets to walk: the principle is deliberately simple. Over the course of two hours, visitors can create their own route, step in and out, rediscover an artist, discover an exhibition they might not otherwise have thought to visit, and then continue a few meters further down the street.
On average, just four minutes of walking separate each gallery: just enough time to move from one exhibition to another, but not enough to lose the thread.
Les Archives was born from the desire of five independent galleries, each with very different histories, artists, and programs, to align their calendars and collectively create a gallery trail on a neighborhood scale.
The aim is neither to create a group exhibition nor to seek an artificial unity between the different presentations. On the contrary, it is their diversity that makes the trail.
From Parliament to RX&SLAG, via Hussenot, Anne Barrault and Mor Charpentier, the trail will offer visitors the opportunity to discover a wide range of artistic proposals: Marie Losier at Anne Barrault; a group exhibition dedicated to portraiture at Hussenot; Saâdane Afif’s Inventaire at Mor Charpentier; Mohamed Namou at Parliament; while RX&SLAG will present Joanne Boyer, Kim Guiline, as well as a dialogue between historical works by Alain Kirili and Hermann Nitsch.
Two hours, five galleries, and enough differences between them to make you want to walk through every door.
This first edition marks the beginning of a project intended to continue. A second event is already planned for November, with two new galleries, Continua and Sans titre, joining the initiative and bringing the total number of participating galleries to seven.
Les Archives thus aims to gradually establish itself within the neighborhood’s calendar—not as a shared program, but as a collective moment that allows each gallery to fully retain its individuality while giving the public an additional reason to move from one to another.
