Alexandre Rochegaussen

Alexandre Rochegaussen (b.1978, Aix-en-Provence, France) obtained his university degrees in history of art, plastic arts and cinema at Aix and a higher degree at the École des Beaux-arts de Marseille. He has since realised a variety of artistic projects, which includes painting, photography, drawings, sculptures, installations, an illustrated book (published by Cheyne) and videos. His most recent works in 2020 - 2021 include several site-specific works: Beatus Vir; ceiling of the Château de Fabrègues; sculpture: Imagine for Pierre Yovanovitch; Les ustensiles du ciel on the ceiling of the Chef’s Table in the Connaught Hotel in London for Hélène Darroze. He lives and works in Paris and in the Haut Var. Through his drawings, photography, videos and sculptures, he explores the realm of fear, of childhood, of the animal kingdom, and their daily interaction in the contemporary world, with both solemnity and jubilation.
